Yes, we're capitalising on England in the semis to talk about property!
It is fair to say semi-final fever has gripped England this week. All eyes are on the big match on Wednesday night, when England take on the Netherlands for a place in Sunday’s final.
At Anthony Jones Properties, we’re fully behind the team, and the country as a whole, but when you mention semi to us, we think of semi-detached homes.
There’s a lot of semi-detached homes in Darlington, and we’re delighted to say we have connected buyers and sellers of these properties across the town.
A quick check of Rightmove on the morning of Monday 8th July indicates a total of 681 properties listed for sale on the nation’s leading property portal. This isn’t the full story of Darlington’s property market right now, but as a quick overview, Rightmove is a great place to start.
Of the 681 properties listed for sale, 176 are semi-detached properties.

However, what about semi-detached property sales since the last time England were in a semi-final of a major tournament? Thankfully, it’s not that long ago. Some England fans went decades without seeing the team reach the final four and yet there are just three years between the Euro 2020 (which we all know was eventually played in 2021) and Euro 2024.
On 7th July 2021, England defeated Denmark 2-1 after extra time at Wembley, propelling the nation into the final.

(Rightmove states for the previous 12 months, the average price of semi-detached properties in Darlington stands at £170,758, so it looks as though there’s consistency in this part of the market.)

Tony Dobbins, of Anthony Jones Properties, said: “We know the joy and happiness a semi-detached home brings to a family, but a semi-final win on Wednesday might even mean more. We can’t help on that score, although like everyone we’ll have an opinion on the line-up and tactics, but we’ll stick with connecting buyers and sellers in the Darlington housing market.”
Anthony Jones Properties wishes England all the best in the match against Netherlands.
