There's something for all budgets in Wynyard - even big spenders
Such is the need for news these days, any local story is ripe for selection from online journalists and news sites. News is a 24 hours a day business, and clicks make money, so there is always something new being talked about.
Of course, while we are aware of this, we can’t avoid it. Any time we see a Wynyard news story pop up on our timeline or feed, we click the link and devour what is on offer. If the news story happens to be a property related article, we double click and read through it without even pausing for breath or to take a sip of coffee.
This is why at the end of September, a story in the Hartlepool Mail jumped out at us.
The headline screamed “Take a peek inside this £1.35million home on the outskirts of Hartlepool featuring gym, cinema room and sauna” and who wouldn’t want to take a look inside that sort of home?
Who doesn’t daydream about a massive home?
This sort of news story does great business, because it appeals to so many people. Those that have the means to afford a home like this will take an interest because they might want to live there. Those that don’t have the means to make an offer on a home like this want to see how the other half live.
After all, who hasn’t spent time daydreaming about what sort of home they would buy if they won the lottery or life was good to them?
However, the overall story got us thinking.
A million-pound home isn’t really news anymore, not in Wynyard. We’re delighted to say we know the local area very well, and there are many fantastic homes and estates in the local area.
At the end of September, we checked Rightmove, and found there were 13 properties listed for sale in Wynyard with an asking price of at least £1m. The property listed in the Hartlepool Mail story was there, but there were many other options too.
The highest asking price looked for offers over £2,300,000 for a manor home with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. That property has been available since June but let’s be honest, if you’re spending that amount of money on a home, you want to think it over!

At the time of writing this article, we also had a property listed in this price bracket. The detached property, also with five bedrooms and four bathrooms, lies in the heart of Wynyard Park. The property offers modern sophistication and extraordinary architectural design. By the time you read this, it might be off the market, but it is an indicator that you can find newsworthy property in Wynyard at any time.
At the same time, the total number of properties listed for sale on Rightmove in Wynard was 201. This means million-pound homes are just a small proportion of the overall market. An interesting part for sure, but no matter your budget, we think there are many brilliant homes to consider in Wynyard, and there are many buyers looking for a home here.
